ABOUT

Hi there! My name is Roxane and I am the creator behind House Tiana. I am a corporate lawyer by day based in New York City / Lenapehoking and art has always been a big part of my life.

Coming from a white-Jewish-French father and a Black-Merina-Malagasy mother, I have light-skin privilege, feature privilege, texture privilege, and I grew up in predominantly white and well-resourced neighborhoods in France, Scotland, and the United States.

I recognize that my ability to have pursued a higher education and legal career in the United States comes primarily from the tireless sacrifices of Indigenous and Black American people who have fought, and continue to fight, for a future where we can all live with freedom, dignity and equity.
This reflection forms the basis of House Tiana's mission. To order a pair of earrings, you must profit share the total cost of your order with one of the eligible funds. I ask that you please use the term "profit sharing" instead of "donating". It acknowledges that, if you are a person holding privilege (like myself), to give to others is not charity, but rather an act of "sharing from the profits of unearned privilege." I am grateful to have learned this language from an Instagram post by Rebekah Borucki.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here.
